Blogging and Browsers
Matthew Allen made an interesting point about browsers. Looting Matters has been collecting this information and IE is still in the lead followed by Firefox with Safari and Chrome quite a way behind. I have noticed that more people are using phones to access information and iPads (from several locations) are quite often used.

iPad and Archaeology
The Apple site has a feature on the use of the iPad for fieldwork at Pompeii. Professor Steven Ellis from the University of Cincinnati commented:
Ellis, who estimates that iPad has already saved him a year of data entry, plans to increase the number of iPad devices from one to two per trench. “The recovery of invaluable information from our Pompeian excavations is now incalculably faster, wonderfully easier, unimaginably more dynamic, precisely more accurate, and robustly secure,” he says.

Digital Heritage and Mobile Technology
The Italian Ministry of Culture (MiBAC) has launched a stylish app for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch (see here). Apart from an online guide there is a facility to buy a virtual ticket for the top tourist attraction in Rome.
iPad for partially sighted
BBC Radio 4 had a short discussion of the iPad and its features for blind and partially sighted users (In Touch, August 3, 2010).
The programme will be available on the BBC iPlayer.
